A show in Time-line is made up of audio blocks. Each block represents a track from your playlist or another audio element like a background stem or intro sound. Learn how to upload audio to a show by reading this tutorial: How To Add Your First Show.

Notes are where the real collaboration happens: they let you and your team attach comments or instructions directly to the music.

Add Layers to your show

Layers are like rows or “swimlanes” in your show. They help keep information organized by type, role, or function — for example: Lighting, Video, SFX, Laser, Camera. Layers give your team a shared structure. Each note you add will live inside one of these layers, so everyone knows where to look for relevant instructions.

To add a layer, click the small Plus icon under the audio block and select which type of layer you want to add.

To delete a layer, hover your mouse over the layer and then click “x”.

Add Key Points

Key Points are markers you can place on top of the waveform to highlight an important musical moments (e.g. a drop, a build, or a breakdown). Key Points act as anchors in the music, making it easy to align notes and cues to the moments that matter most.

Coming soon: Time-line AI will auto-detect Key Points.

To add a Key Point, double click anywhere on the waveform and select the correct category from the dropdown. The Key Point will appear as a marker on the waveform.

To move a Key Point, click and hold the marker and drag it to a new position on the waveform.

To change a Key Point’s category, click the marker and choose a different category from the dropdown.

To delete a Key Point, select the marker, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
